What Happens Now?

Good Morning,

First, I want to say thank you to everyone who has read this blog. If you made it this far, I am so happy that I have been able to share with you a glimpse, of what it was like to participate in the Ulman Foundation’s 4K for Cancer during the summer of 2019. Thank you for joining me every morning as I reflected on the day’s events one year later. I can feel the love and support that you have given me every day.

Although I shared some of my thoughts, I am still processing much of what happened. Even now, some perspectives that I shared over the past forty-nine days have shifted. Many of us on Team Boston do not think that we will ever fully process, nor fully comprehend, what we were able to experience together. We truly were able to take part in the experience of a lifetime, and I am glad to say that I think it made me a better person. I became more comfortable with survivorship, cancer, and supporting myself and others. I think I made Laurie proud.

You may be asking yourself, “What happens now?”

I still have many thoughts, ideas, and experiences to share on The First Step Blog. The daily blogs have been a monstrously large task, that like last year, were more time consuming than I could have ever anticipated. I can only hope that they illustrated what it was like to run across the country with the Ulman Foundation. However, I don’t think it properly captured my thoughts, my journey, and everything that it taught Team Boston and I. Soon, I will be writing reflective blogs about these topics. They will be published as I write them and as it becomes easier to formulate these reflections into words. For now, there will be a brief pause as I take a short break from writing.

Again, thank you to everyone who has supported me and joined me on this journey! I hope these daily blogs have made you feel like a part of Team Boston.

Sending my love and support your way as well,

Ryan
